#DearTeachers is a call to celebrate the dedicated, passionate educators who work so hard on behalf of students everywhere. Though we’re apart for Teacher Appreciation Week, the gratitude school communities feel for teachers is stronger than ever! Let’s show it!

Three ways your organization can create an outpouring of support for teachers:

Create a #DearTeachers Message

Share a message using the #DearTeachers graphic generator. We’ve provided images and sample language to help you craft a message to celebrate the teachers in your community and beyond.

Join the Conversation

Use #DearTeachers to post photos and share heartfelt messages via video. By using the hashtag, you’ll turn a conversation into a celebration.

Retweet and Share

Retweet and share #DearTeachers posts on your social media feeds! Together, we can create a powerful moment to say: “#DearTeachers … thank you.”

Consider using the generator yourself to share a message tailored toward the teachers your organization serves. Example below!

You can also send an email, like the one below, to your networks and audiences, encouraging them to participate:

We’re reaching out because [[organization]] is partnering with Teacher2Teacher to launch a national campaign for Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4-8), and we wanted to invite you to participate. Our hope is that by partnering together and inviting students, families, educators and our broader community to share #DearTeachers messages online, we can offer something special and uplifting to educators.

In the midst of COVID-19 disruption, the warm, in-person celebrations and gift-giving that typically characterize Teacher Appreciation Week aren’t possible, but this campaign, #DearTeachers, is meant to recreate some of what is lost: the cards and signs, notes and homemade videos – the little moments of acknowledgment that mean so much to hardworking educators.

Whether you’re a parent or student celebrating a teacher who’s made an impact on you or a teacher giving a shoutout to your fellow educators, you can participate with us by using this link to create a custom #DearTeachers story graphic and sharing it with your networks over social media.
